Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on exploring the unconscious processes and past experiences, particularly childhood events, that influence an individual's current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Rooted in the theories of Sigmund Freud, psychodynamic therapy aims to help clients gain insight into unresolved conflicts and unconscious patterns that may be contributing to their emotional difficulties.

In psychodynamic therapy, the therapist and client work together to uncover hidden feelings and memories that shape present behaviours and relationships.

By bringing unconscious material into conscious awareness, clients can better understand the root causes of their issues and develop healthier ways of coping. Psychodynamic therapy is particularly effective for addressing deep-seated emotional problems, relational difficulties, and patterns of self-sabotage. While it typically involves a longer-term commitment, it offers profound, lasting change by addressing the underlying causes of distress rather than focusing solely on symptoms.
